CLUB HISTORY
Dapto Swimming Club was founded on July 19, 1965, with its first annual general meeting to form a committee held on September 15th of that year. The Club's first PointScore commenced during the following summer season.
It has always been the philosophy of the Club to promote a healthy, fun loving environment for the swimmers of the community whilst at the same time instilling the self-discipline required to be competitive at the top level in the sport.
Written into the Constitution of the Club is the following: "The objects of the club shall be: to promote, teach and encourage the arts of swimming and lifesaving. To stimulate public opinion in favour of providing proper accommodation and facilities for swimming." The present committee embraces this philosophy endeavouring to promote a family atmosphere through Friday Club Nights and group support of our swimmers at all swimming carnivals.
The Club was first represented at the summer Country Championships held at Tumut in 1968 by three swimmers, and since has gained numerous Country, State and National medals.
